Have a pacemaker % usage?

I had check up for my pacemaker. The ep person said I was using my pacemaker in the upper chamber about 8% and lower chamber about 100%. what does that mean to me. I forgot to ask what those numbers mean. Thanks, Karen

PM %

Hi Karen,

Simply put (I think) that means the atrium needs help to maintain a good rhythm 8% of the time ad the ventricle needs help 100% of the time. Now, that 100% does not necessarily mean that you would die if the PM went out. Out heart has more than source to get an impulse to make it beat, but without the PM you probably would not feel very well. Of course, as you know, your doctor is the one that knows your situation best and is the best one to give you answers.
