I have posted messages before concerning tired feeling. PM implanted 7/7/0. Still not feeling as good as I thought I would. I have tried to be patient but am still not feeling as good as I thought I would. Saw my GP yesterday for normal blood pressure checkup. BP 130/70. Told him how I felt but he said all seemed ok. Keep thinking of all the problems that could be causing these feelings. Always think the worse. I have numerous lung nodules that are being tracked by ct every 6 months. This last ct showed one nodule has increased to 7 mm and two have decreased, another cause for worry. Need some feedback.

Not sure

I get really, really tired sometimes too. I am not sure if my blood pressure is really low. I go the other end, my pacemaker is due to low blood pressure causing the heart to stop. Make sure if possible lay down and take a nap. The other day, I did and felt fine afterwards. Take care

Also tired

I haven't had my PM yet but I too am tired most of the time and I make myself lay down for at least 1 hour everyday and it real helps me. I try to sleep but if not I rest. If I let myself get too tired I get depressed.

Fatigued

Hi.

I'm sorry you are not feeling well. I too went through what you described and still do....so my EP/Cardiologist suggested that I get tested for Sleep Apnea, which I did, and I will get the results back tomorrow.

Also, I read a study that found that 60% of pacemaker patients MAY develop Sleep Apnea...so it was worth it to me to pay the $75 out of my pocket to be tested by a private clinic as if I were to wait to go through our medical system (through the hospital) the wait list where I live is 2 years!!!!!!!!

Another thing that may be making you so exhausted is any medications you may be taking...if any. Sometimes when we get the sheet of paper that lists side effects of that particular medication, they don't always list ALL the side effects, so a good place to go and ask is your pharmacist...they know the medications far better than the doctors (in my opinion).

Another thing that may be contributing to your tiredness is depression (many people after having a pacemaker go into some kind of depression)...or it could be as simple as having your pacemaker's settings adjusted to YOUR needs. For the first 3 or 4 months most doctors leave the pacemaker's settings at a range that would fit most people, however, we are all different and I truly believe you are only as good as how good the pacemaker is set for you. Sometimes it takes numerous adjustments to get it right for you.

Just don't give up. There is an answer to your tiredness, it's just sad that we as the patient have to dig and dig and push and push our doctors to help us find that answer.

Remember: the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Take care,
Pookie

I just want to share about the quality of life after my pacemaker, and hopefully increase awareness that lifestyles do not have to be drastically modified just because we are pacemaker recipients.
