remote monitoring

if there is any pacers with a monitor that you carry on you belt
or leave at home . I would like to hear from you my doctor provided me with one that sends info from my pacer back to pacer H.Q. every morning at 2 am . and when I question my doctor abouut it . it appears that they dont really want to discuss it . I am beginning to believe that it is just a money making thing for the C.O. and doctor am I wrong. P. S. when
settings are sent back to H.Q. they send the dr that and tell him if he should reset the pacer . however they call me in themselves every six monthes to check it themselves so I am really confused here. if the red light comes on on this thing that is the doctors office wanting me to call them and come in so that they can check my pacer out.

Just read your post and not familiar with that. Is it just a monitor by itself or do you have any leads like an event monitor? I had an event monitor that used a cell phone and when I had an event I could hear it sending a call and my EP office would call me and ask what I was doing. Not sure if it is the same thing?

you are talking about the home monitor that is hooked up to your phone line, right? Its the one you can send a pm checkup to the dr who monitors your pacer if im right. I wondered myself about that when they told me it checks it at the sametime every day. I think I got my answer last month I was gone camping for a few days to a place that didnt have a phone hookup so monitor stayed home, hummm no phone call from either the dr office or manufacter, so me thinks its more to send info when your doctor wants to do it over the phone and to soak a few more dollars out of insurance compaines.

My pacemaker is by Biotronik. I have the cell phone looking home monitor and yes, I have to carry it with me everywhere I go. I have learned to take advantage of the carrying belt so that I don't have to hook it to my clothes and risk having it fall off.

The monitoring is nothing to be worried about, sort of like a holter monitor except without the ekg leads and sticky pads.
