pacer dependent

Anyone out there atrial and ventricular dependent?

Without my pacemaker, I have no atrial activity at all. My AV node is now causing problems and we're having a hard time suppressing it. I fear AV node ablation is the only thing left to do, which would leave me completely pacemaker dependent in both top and bottom chambers.

Anyone????

My problems are all in my sinus node area so I don't know much about your situation but I would do it if it came to that. It would be scary but if it would make you feel better, I say do it. I have such irregular beats that if we could suppress them all I would! I trust my PM to work and beat for me:) Good luck!!

Similar problem.

Hi, I'm having exactly the same problem for some years except that it's getting worse. I'm different from you tho in that I have an ICD due to VT. I am currently 100%dependent cos had ablation for inappropr. sinus tachycardia; after this ablation 2 yrs on there were lots of repercussions. No end to problems. I am right now like you having junctional or AV node problems. Junctional tachycardia that causes huge discomfort and lead to VT sometimes. I too have been told I may need to knock off completely my AV node which EP thinks is the culprit despite he had earlier ablated much of it already. Pls.think carefully before you do this ablation. I am taking a beta blocker plus antiarrhythmic agents to stop ventricular arrhythmia and the AV node problems. Drop me a line in private if you wish to share more. Meanwhile, take care and good luck. bunnykin.

I can relate...

I have a similar situation....also PM dependant after an ablation 2/10. I have discussed with my DR the need for another ablation. I have decided to stay on my meds which are working most of the time. It is a hard decision but the way I view it is....I am already 100% dependent in the bottom chambers so is there really a difference? Not sure.... If my meds were not working for me I may feel differently.

Good luck making your decision,
Heidi
