Tip to keep your arm down while sleeping

I am a recent PM guy. I was told not to lift my left arm over my head for 6 weeks.

My tip to all while sleeping is to by a lanyard at the drug store or at Walmart. Loop it around your left arm before you retire for the night and clip the clip to your PJ's or whatever bottoms you sleep in, works for me and it prevents the arm from going behind your head while sleeping. Works for me!

If you sleep in the buff, maybe you can attach it to your belly button ring or some other part of your lower anatomy?

A lanyard is a loop around your neck sort of like a necklace but larger. It generally has a clip on the end for Id or keys.

Loop the lanyard around the wrist and pull it back through the loop, then take the clip and attach it to your bottoms. Not Rocker Science, and it works better than a sling. You would have to pull your bottoms off to get your arm over the head.

All the Dr's. who talked to us said not to put a sling on the arm. The sling could cause, and probably would cause, the shoulder to 'freeze up' and require a lot of painful rehab in the future.

I suggest hooking the lanyard on your ear or even maybe a toe, if in the buff.

Sounds like a winner to me ~

is the thing that you put around your neck to hold glasses &/or name ID tags. I googled it 'cause I didn't know either. :-)

I used the sling for about 4 days and my shoulder was killing me. So I took a rubber band and put it on my wrist, then I took a safety pin and pinned the rubberband to my Pj's. Worked great!!!

I have had my pacer since 2005. At first it ruled my life. It took some time to calm down and make the mental adjustment. I had trouble sleeping and I worried a lot about pulling wires. Now I just live my life as I wish.
