Merlin Device
I just recieved a Merlin@home transmitter and wondered how I will know if it works.
I have not used it as yet.
Any info will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Charlie

That doesn't sound...

...very fail-safe. Any msg that does not get at least an "acknowledged" response equates a favorable a favorable outcome w/ a failure. Remember that old flick "The Andromeda Strain"? That's exactly what happened there.
I don't have a Merlin, and I'm not sure I want one under those circumstances.

Firstly I must tell you that "Charlie" is my all time favorite guy name :-) I don't know why, it just is!
Ok, I have the Merlin@home as well. I simply followed the directions... watching it go through the motions of setting it up, watching the lights work and then the tower light and that's it.
I spoke to my dr. a few months later and the computer person came in also to tell me that I "Should feel fine" because he had not received any messages from Merlin. I asked how he can be sure and he replied that the system is a very sophiscated computer and he certainly would get a message telling him that I was having issues.
Since then I have relaxed and not given it much thought. I am on my 2nd pacemaker, I got this one in 2010. I do pay attention to how I feel and if I think I should stop by and check with my dr.... I do. It's worth my peace of mind.
There are a few folks here with a Merlin, so I'm sure they will add their thoughts.
Welcome to the Pacemaker Club. Let me know if you learn more about the Merlin@home transmitter. Mine travels with me... so far all the way to Calif. and Canada!!
