Telephone Transmitter

Does anybody know if you can transmit your PM data through a VOIP phone? I no longer have a LAND line (cells only) and all of the telephones at work are VOIP. My work phone requires you to dial area code + 1 + number even on local calls. Think that extra 1 may be the deal breaker. Please advise if you know for sure........and thanks.

What brand PM do you have?

I also am in the same boat you are. I only have a cell phone and no land line and have tried numerous times to use my remote monitor to transmit to my clinic without any luck. So, I'm driving to the clinic Thursday so they can do the PM check and at that time, they will also check my monitor to see it is working properly.

I have a Medtronic PM and remote monitor --- what do you have? Medtronic has a service that will allow cell users to connect their phones to the monitor and I may have to go that route. Keep me posted on your problem.

Vonage works from home for me

Vonage works by VOIP, and I've been transmitting my data with that for the past 18 months, with no problems at all. Have you actually tried to transmit from work, or are you basing it on what people have told you? I would urge you to give it a test whatever your monitor people say: they told me I wouldn't be able to use a cordless phone handset too, and I've never told them that they're successfully reading data sent that way.

I hope you find a solution - certainly, Vonage has been no issue for me.

there maybe only one company that offers wireless connection, I think pacergirl was talking about it. Havent heard of any that offer it or seen it in my stumbleing around other websites. Sorry but I think that all do the lanline only right now. I could be wrong tho.

VoIP

I have a Boston scientific pacemaker. My phone service is ooma VoIP. It is not compatible with my pacer. They have a cell connection you can get for $15. A month. It does not work with you own cell phone, it is their own connection. Why should I have to pay that? That defeats the purpose why I went with this phone service. I now go to my son's house very 91 days to download. I am fortunate that my condition does not require daily checks. As a senior with limited income I must watch my finances. It is beyond my understanding why a company that makes life saving devices that is touted to be " high tec" can't handle this situation. They seem to be behind times.
