Pain when monitoring

When I use my home Carelink home monitor or when my Dr. uses his monitor to check my Medtronics PM it hurts like hell. It isn’t the surgery which has healed very well and never hurt. It feels like a strong cramp inside my chest, like a burning muscle sort of pain. It happens 30 seconds or so after the monitoring starts. After I’ve done my monitoring it stops but takes a few minutes to feel normal again.

I also can feel my pacemaker when it fires off. It isn’t too painful but feels like a static shock. My Dr. doesn’t seem to know what is going on but I can tell he knows something is wrong. He lowered the voltage on the PM but it still feels the same.

Pain

To my understanding there should never be pain or even discomfort with a pacemaker. My adage is tell the doctor to find it!! Any problems I have encountered have always been solved by a setting adjustment, hopefully this would do it for you as well!

Keep at it and good luck!

I would contact who ever makes the Pacemaker and ask them. This is definitely not normal and not something I would want my husband to be feeling every day.

God Bless

Did the interigation of your pacemaker feel good?
