I expected to feel like a new woman !

I had a pacemaker fitted in June 2010. I didn't realise it was going to be so brutal and had an ablation procedure 3 days later.
Just after my pacemaker was programmed, I got migraine aura and had a migraine attack. The same happened when the pacemaker programme was tweeked. I am told this has nothing to do with the pacemaker, but I am not so sure. I also have a pain in my left jaw bone intermittently, a black dot and clouding in front of my right eye, bladder problems, cramp in left hand quite badly and a general feeling of arthritisness in my whole body. I have suffered from migraine since a child but have never had so much pain in my head, even the bridge of my nose hurts. The pacemaker was inserted because of Irregular Heartbeat and I am hoping things will get better.

Can anyone help me ?

Sorry to hear of all your recent problems. I've never heard of a pacemaker migraine connection. I would suggest seeing your regular doctor if possible to ask more about your migraines. And I would definitely ask more about your jaw and left hand pain. I've found people on this site to be very helpful, and maybe someone will soon chime in with better information. After getting my ICD implanted, I had some problems also, and it seems they have gone away. I wish I had more information for you. I wish you the best. Take Care.

But...my husband went to see his doctor and while waiting he picked up a phamphlet on Fibromyalgia only because I've been diagnosed with it a few times.

The very first reason they have listed is one can get Fibro from surgery!!!!!!!!!

Believe me, anything is possible. After having my pacer in late 2004, I now have at least 10 new diagnosis.

And there can be a relationship between migraines or headaches and pacemakers - as I went to the ER and the nice doc took the time and came back with papers explained Pacemaker Syndrome.

I'd definately start writing down your questions and find a doctor who is willing to take the time with you.

Keep in mind too, however, that you had recent surgery and our bodies can take several months to heal.
