UK doctors

Hi all,

Any one in the UK can recommend a good doctor?

I had law rate heart but no other symptoms and my doctor decided that it is necessary to have a pacemaker. I had the pace maker inserted on the 14 April 2010 by a junior doctor. I had hear perforation, pneumonia and now high blood pressure and pain in the left arm heart area.

I am desperate for a good doctor who would listen and examine the tests images.

Thanks

London Arithmia Centre

I don't think it is 1 in 20. My operation report doesn’t say anything about the complications and my consultant lied to me. However, he had to stop lying after I was admitted to emergency with Pneumonia 2 weeks after the operation. My hospital notes indicate it as well.

They tend also to express it in a twisted way using indirect medical expressions.

Hence, I wonder how many doctors have managed to get away with it.

And yes, my last consultant did take £250 for less than 15min consultation and given me no answers. So the Arrhythmia Centre seems to cost allot less!! Did you have recommendation for a particular doctor?

So the trick I think not to tell them that you disapprove or checking on other hospitals work!

thanks

Good Hospital

Sorry to hear you have had such a rough time.

I'm in the UK. I'm not sure where abouts you are, but the most important thing is to get a referral to a good hospital. Everyone is entitled to a second opinion. Ask your GP to refer you to a specialist in arrythmias (not just a cardiologist) at a specialist heart hospital (I'm at the Royal Brompton in London).

When you are there, make sure you see the consultant, and not the registrar.

Good luck!

Sometimes a device must be tuned a few times before it is right. My cardiologist said it is like fine tuning a car.
