Well my appointment went well yesterday. Doc. concerned about the tiredness so has speeded up my settings and upped by pulse rate to 60 instead of 50 . Now I'm pacing at 70 -72. Guess upping the settings on the PM has something to do with this. If this doesn't work when I go back in a month we will start playing with the meds. Of course I have the blood test to do next Tues, and if nothing shows there than we experiment.
On another note I ask about the cost of the new meds to replace warferine (sp) and was told it would be $ 2 -$3 a day for the normal dose ??? but would be a bit higher for a stronger dose and less for a weaker dose. So when my war. is all going to see about changing . NO MORE BLOOD TEST YEAH.
Hope you have a great day and hope someone out there has warm sunshine as we don't.

That is what it is called but under a different name here in Canada. Glad to hear from someone on it . How do they judge if your blood is not to thin?? That seems to be my issue on warfarin. Good luck with your check-up. I've been in a few times now but am still amased how much info that little PM can spit out. Good luck

New med

by punkie71947 - 2011-05-10 10:05:50

Hi, Binky,
Is your new med that your are talking about called Pradaxa ? I was put on Pradaxa in January. Coumadin did not work well for me and sometimes it would take weeks to get my INR were they wanted it.
I love the new med. You are right....no more weekly INR test and I can eat broccoli, greens etc. It does cost more but in the long run I think I am coming out ahead by not having to pay for so much lab work.
I pay about $75.00 for 30 pills. Our insurance company gives me back 80% of that when we file.
I go in tomorrow for my first PM check up and pray that they can make me feel better with a few adjustment.
Take care.
