My pacemaker moves

Hi
I got my pacemaker in Feb, 2010. Healing went ok without any problems. But lately, last couple of months, I find that my pacemaker moves. Sometimes it is close to my armpit and I can feel the edge of it. Other times it is more in toward the middle left of my chest. Today it feels higher up than usual.
Is this normal? Does anyone else have this problem of their pacemaker moving around? I am worrying that something is wrong. Anyone that can explain whats happening?
Thanks. Sue

your pacemaker can move if the surgeon didn't "anchor" it down....(sew it into place) OR if the pocket in which your pacemaker is placed is too big.

My pacemaker moved from mid chest area right into my armpit....had to have surgery to fix it. Since then, it hasn't moved a bit.

For some reason not all surgeons sew the pacer in.

A simple chest Xray, compared to the 1st Xray after surgery, would prove to any doctor if it has moved.

Good luck,

I have had my pacer since 2005. At first it ruled my life. It took some time to calm down and make the mental adjustment. I had trouble sleeping and I worried a lot about pulling wires. Now I just live my life as I wish.
