message for willowrose

I am 84, had my pm fitted on September 9th. I didnt sleep at all the first night after application and heart was beating in a strange way but ever since then I have felt fine but quite tired. I go for a very short half an hour slowish walk every day. Not sure how much walking to do. I had to have pm put in twice! I came back from first one and lay on my bed and suddenly I experienced huge twitchings on my left side under ribs. A wire had come out and I had to have whole thing done again! I think I am feeling better every day. I live alone but daughters helped for first three days, bringing food etc. Doris

Hi, Doris this is willowrose, I hope you are doing better, sorry to hear you had to have it done over again. When I hear of wires coming out it kinda scars me, I hope I'm not doing to much. I have had mine for three weeks now, and I am doing better each day. I guess everyone has different things to expect. Let us know how you are doing,

hi Doris
Take it slow and easy and things will get better. My Mom who is 96 has had a PM since she was 85 and is doing great. I am 63 and got mine in March. You be patient and rest when you need to. Welcome and all the best.

i, too, had to have a second surgery for the pm due to loose wire. i wonder if this is common. if so, the doc should discuss this so patients won't freak out if they need the surgery re-done.

You know you're wired when...
