Project Linus

I think the best thing that has helped me cope with the anxiety of knowing that my heart no longer works so well on it's own was learning to crochet. A concerned neighbor and friend has come over to visit numerous times and she has taught me to crochet as I have recovered from this surgery and try to accept what has happened to me.

Last week she took me to my first Project Linus meeting and now I am diligently working to complete a crocheted blanket that I too can donate to such a worthy cause.

If you don't already have a hobby, find one to help keep your mind off the pacemaker.

Taking your mind off the pacer is like trying to forget a spouse.

Unless you have some other serious heart problem there is absolutely no reason to be spooked by a pacer. I'm 80 yrs old and spent several hours today hiking around out the desert up and over hills etc. My pacer just clicked away and made the hike fun.

best,
