Electric Frank pointed out something I think is important. When I first joined the pacemaker club I said in my profile. And i quote Healthy as a horse except for the pacemaker. He suggested I probably should have said healthy as a horse because of the pacemaker. As usual Electric Frank is absolutely correct. However thinking back on that now I did not know that at the time. I thought that having a pacemaker made you some what less of a person. Now I know that is not the case. You were just sick and the pacemaker or ICD is just the cure. We as old members of the club have to keep that in mind when we converse with new members of the club. They are looking for reasons why they are inferior. it is our job to help them to realize that the pacer- ICD is just another tool to help them to realize their dreams. To live there lives to the fullest and give them more time to make their lives and others lives better. I have found since getting my pacer there is nothing better than a 2nd chance. Just a thought.
