1 wk after PM implant, left side arm pain

My Mother is 90. SHe is in good shape and went in for PM.
She had dual lead system. She did well. She was kept overnight and released. She has taken a couple of Tylenol along. But, now her left arm is hurting so badly with pain.
She is not doing anything or lifting anything. What is the deal?
She went to her family dr. today, since cardiologist too busy to call back now for 6 hours. THe doc gave her x-ray and pain meds. Could it be more?

Left arm pain is also one of the possible symptoms of serious heart issues. I agree with TraceyE. I would push to see the cardio. Don't wait around too long for a call back. Squeeky wheel......

keep calling cardio

I assume her dr checked for signs of a clot? That's the only thing I can think of that would suddenly cause her arm to hurt when she's feeling better. I'm not a dr, that's just a guess. I'm surprised the family dr didn't do more. Have you called the cardiologist again? Messages get lost.

Could Be More Or Less

Yes it could be more or less. Is the pain just in the upper part of the arm or does it extend from shoulder to finger tips?

If it is in upper part only I would be thinking about muscle pain because if the pacemaker was implanted under the collar bone they would have been working in the area of the pectoral muscle which goes across the upper part of the chest and then wraps around the top of the shoulder. I have had pain in that are since my replacement surgery and the Dr. said it was just from the pectoral muscle and will probably go away after a while. Been 2 months now and it is better.

But ar 90 years old why wait and take a chance on it being more?
