afib with Adapta

I read a post here of someone who had a lot of Afib after their Adapta PM was put in. I am having the same problem. She said that after a year it went away by itself .Has anyone else had this problem and did you have to go on drugs or did it eventually stop. I believe having the PM put in caused the Afib to start. The lady in the post said that somewhere on Medtronics sight they mentioned that this could be a temporary problem. If anyone has more information please advise
thank you

Any of the "fibs" are generally caused by an irritable area of the heart wall. I would think that the process of inserting an electrode into the heart wall could trigger an existing area if it happened to hit it. It wouldn't necessarily be related to the Adapta, but maybe the type of electrode. Some screw into the heart wall. Others use a barb type.

This could account for the fib going away after a while when the heart wall became adapted to the electrode.
