Make an appointment

Hi John64,
I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling any better, but like Cabg Patch says, it's most likely the settings. I completely agree with her advice that you should set up an appointment to see your cardiologist and EP to get your settings adjusted ASAP. Its no fun to be so out of breath all the time, I know the feeling all too well. I finally found a caring, compassionate doctor who made sure my settings were adjusted shortly after I got my replacement last month and I'm feeling better than I have in years!
Make that call and trust that you will feel better soon.
Best wishes!!
Teresa

70%

Stats are that in 70% of the cases, it will help. That means that even with adjustments in settings, it will not be successful in 30%. I knew this going into the procedure. Mine was done in Feb 2010. Only within the last month have I felt any different whatsoever. My Heart Failure Specialist said when the condition is severe, such as mine, it can sometimes take up to 18 months to see any improvement in symptoms. I'm not sure if that means I'm no longer in the 30% failure stat or not. Unfortunately, sometimes it doesn't have the results we want and hope for, but for the vast majority, it makes a significant difference. Again, talk to the EP, the cardiologist and the tech to see if there can be an adjustment to the settings that could give you a better shot at improvement. Incidentally, I don't have Bradycardia or SSS. I have DCM.

You know you're wired when...

You trust technology more than your heart.

To tell you the truth I never even give it a second thought. While growing up it never stopped me from doing anything and to this day my girlfriend or my kids need to remind me that I have one!
