I've never seen that either....the best suggestion I can offer is to call Medtronics directly and ask them. They are very good at answering questions!! You must have a newer version - I'm guessing you might have the Medtronics Adapta???

Give them a call, it won't hurt:) then share with us what it means so we can get the Admin to add it to the list of abbrevations.

Take care,

Meaning of model# DDR01

by ElectricFrank - 2010-12-18 12:12:21

This is the model number of your pacer. Pookie is right in that this is a new Medronics model.

The initials DDDR is one of the available pacing modes.

hope this helps,

I have a copy of the Medronics ADAPTA Pacemaker Reference Guide.

The ADDRO1 translates to:

AD = Adapta

DR = DDDR Pacing Mode

0 = Physical size and battery type
0 = Mid size - Sigma 263 battery(Two lead
System)

1 = Lead connector
1 = IS - Biploar or unipolar leads
set screw for tip electrodes

One other note, the DDDR includes the Rate Response Feature. However, it has to be activated. It is not one of the default settings activated at he factory.

I have a Medronics Adapta ADDRL1 - which did not have the Rate response turned on after implant; and is not currently activated. I am doing fine without this setting.

Hope this proves helpful.

Kappa 700 vs Adapta

Adapta Model Numbers:

Adapta DR ADDR01, ADDR03, ADDR06, ADD01
Adapta DR ADDRL1
Adapta DR ADDRS1
Adapta SR ADSR01, ADSR03, ADSR06
Adapta VDD ADVDD01

Adapta (Model #ADDR01) is a new pacemaker that is designed to provide further automaticity advances by including the managed ventricular pacing (MVP) feature designed to promote intrinsic conduction (natural flow of electricity in the heart) by reducing unnecessary ventricular (lower chamber of the heart) pacing (electrical impulses). Adapta also contains a feature called TherapyGuide that is designed to allow the user to select certain conditions for each subject and receive a list of suggested pacemaker parameter value changes based on those conditions.

The Medtronic Adapta Series pacemakers are similar in design and function to the Medtronic Kappa 700 Series
models. The following features, for which data was collected in the Kappa 700 study, are also included in the
Adapta Series pacemakers:
¡ñ Rate Response ¨C This feature is unchanged from the Kappa 700 Series models.
¡ñ Capture management ¨C The Kappa 700 Series models included Ventricular Capture Management (VCM). A few minor improvements have been made to the VCM feature in the Adapta Series models.
¡ñ Automatic polarity configuration ¨C This feature is unchanged from the Kappa 700 Series models.
¡ñ Sensing assurance ¨C This feature is unchanged from the Kappa 700 Series models.

Adapta ADDRL1

I also have the Adapta ADDRL1. Got it in July 2010. When first put in had low setting of 60, high of 140 bpm. Then changed to 60/ 160 bpm, and at last visit had it changed to 60/ 180 bpm, with the rate response being turned off. I still find it very difficult to exercise at a high level without my heart rate getting too high too fast. I suspect this is more from the open heart, valve sparing aortic root replacement surgery I had 3 weeks before the pacemaker being inserted. Does anyone know what the highest this model of pacemaker can be set at. I hope that I will be able to get to at least 190. I'm 30 years old, so that would be my "normal" high rate anyways.

Thanks
