Pacemaker buzzing?

My dad has chronic afib and had a pacemaker implanted in November he experienced a buzzing in the pm last night. Any ideas why?

Also he is waiting to have an afib ablation sometime this month for the persistent afib - anyone with a similar story?  He is 70 years old and has afib since age 37. He often gets winded and his pacemaker is doing 50 percent of the work on the lower end of his heart.

Just a concerned daughter. Thanks for any input! <3

He will see the ep this afternoon....I had read this when I googled this morning...I am guessing they would have to go in and fix it? I know his leads were placed differently due to how his heart lies in his chest so guess that makes sense. He is tired of not feeling good. I am praying for hope and miracles of healing.

PM Buzzing

This from, an article by someone at the Texas Heart Institute in Houston.

"It's possible that there's a break in the insulation of the pacemaker lead, allowing electrical current to leak out of the system into the surrounding tissue and resulting in symptoms. If that's the case, it really should be possible to tell from an interrogation of the device, although sometimes the insulation break can be intermittent and the device has to be interrogated while the patient is performing various physical maneuvers with his or her arm. If that's the issue, a new pacemaker lead should be placed."

A-Fib

I had A-Fib from 1986 till I got my pacemaker in July of 2008. The EP did an ablation that worked for a few weeks but had to re-program the PM when the A-Fib returned.

I actually still have the A-Fib but is corrected by the PM. I'm being paced almost 100% of the time.
