frustrated follow up

Thanks for all your kind messages.  I really don’t feel alone anymore.  Anyway, just a follow up.  I got my hands on the last report of the interrogation: the comments of the EP were: ......patient can not tolerate AV dissociation in DDIR mode. Pace in DDDR mode at fast rate to minimize post extrasystolic pauses. ......
he picked up a systolic murmur as well.

One of the other doctors who was present at the interrogation wanted to do an echocardiogram but my EP said to try the higher settings. Does any of this makes sense?  It is too bad you can’t talk to them on the phone and ask them to explain things.  They are always rushed, but like many of you said: they do work for us, we have to live with this device and hope for the best.

He set my rate at low 80 and high 140.  I guess I have to accept the 80 or try out the 70. It’s 2 weeks now.  I must admit I don’t feel too bad.  My PM was implanted for tachycardia and AV fib with an AV node ablation.  It is so good to be able to get it off your chest because many of you have had similar experiences. Sorry for being so longwinded.

Smitty, isn't this similar to your experience

Maybe Smitty will pick up on this one. As I remember they set his lower limit up so the pacer would initiate a beat before his heart did.

I have a well tuned pacer. I hardly know I have it. I am 76 year old, hike and camp alone in the desert. I have more energy than I have had in a long time. The only problem is my wife wants to have a knob installed so she can turn the pacer down.
