Sleeping with a Pacemaker

Sleeping with a Pacemaker is difficult particularly when you sleep on your side. I found a solution and it has worked great.

When sleeping on my side the goal is to get my head off the bed the same distance as it is from my shoulder to my neck. That way the shoulder isn't squashed.

At WalMart I found a formed pillow under the brand name of "Canopy" and is called "Contoured Memory Foam Pillow For Side and Back Sleepers" It is a "Standard" model. This formed pillow has a high curved edge and the other side is a higher curved edge (to fill in at the neck). Worked great but one didn't do the trick. YOU HAVE TO GET TWO. The second one I bought at WalMart was a "Mainstays" brand called "Contour Shaped Memory Foam" and is a "Standard" model.

Two work perfect and you can switch to the front or back edge to perfectly fit your neck area. My shoulder quit hurting in about a month and smooth sailing after that. Sleeping on the back or stomach puts your head a little high but I got used to that in about 2 weeks. You can also just remove one of the formed pillows if needed. I never do.

For someone with a Pacemaker two of these type pillows are almost necessary.

Pacemaker and doing good.

I should add, the two types of pillows are the same and two of either brand or 1 each will do. They are not like a normal pillow but very comfortable.

Thank You

Thanks for that information. I will look into it.

I had mine put in on Dec 14 and have never had a problem sleeping with it. But I've slept on this type of pillow for years, maybe that's why. I have found it helpful to put, I call them swishy pillows, under my left shoulder. They're the pillows that are filled with little beads. Alot of time they have cartoon charactors on it.

Good thinking

The particulars for each individual may vary, but the idea of working out support that fits you body is great.

I've used one of those contour pillows for years for my neck. I'm about to replace mine and was gong to order one on the internet. Thanks for the heads up on Walmart.
