pacemaker failure

my 2nd pacemaker completely failed on me 1st was replaced because it was 1 lead, 1st installed aug 2009, 2nd oct 2010, failed jan 2011 .. when i went for a routine check they could not find an impulse nothing, they tryed everything 2 seperate machines, different plugs ect, i told them my hr was down below the setting they told me my little mach was prob, off, so they send me asap to the hosp. and a rep checks it trys everthing 3 diff machines, listen with a stetascope he borrows and gets zip nothing, within 24 hrs they replaced it and sent me home, everytimr i asked i got nothing, i told them it must have broke, they said impossible, then they asked me some stupid questions, ill save it for later and here i am off work for 10 days, no pay and wondering whos going to pay the hosp. bills, do i have any options?

I don't know where you are located or what insurance you have, but if in US, you have a right to receive copies of all medical reports and you should make sure to get them. If anybody stalls, quote HIPAA to them, that's the law that guarantees your right to your records. Then, if they're too jargonized get someone who understands that stuff to explain it to you. After that you will know more about your options, but it sounds screwy to me to have 2 PMs fail when they seldom fail at all.

Could I ask who the manufacturer is? I have recently had a cameron health S-ICD implanted and it failed within four weeks. I have in the last few day had new second device fitted? And is failure a common occurrence?
