Am I the only one????

Thank you to everybody who answered my letter.  I had no idea a viral infection could cause this.  I have allergies, so every so often I catch colds and sometimes develop a little bronchitis, but then it goes away.  I am NOT a smoker or drinker, and used to walk every morning about 1 mile and felt o.k.  My surgery went very well.  All my Drs.were wonderful. They advised my family for me to get 100% rest while I was home until I felt stronger and was out of the red zone.  My stitches were gone in 2 weeks, and my first pacemaker/defib. checkup went very well. I was in no pain, still recovering after a month and a half. I can go out and shop etc., but have to walk at a slower pace.  And if I try to do too much bending around the house, I need to stop and rest.  I will be seeing my cardiologist in March, so he can do all those heart tests again to see if my heart got stronger.(hoping and praying it did) I wish you ALL good health!!

Am I the only one?.......NO!!

You are not alone!

Last September I bent down to get a pair of shoes, stood up too quickly and my ICD/pacemaker fired and I passed out for the first time. (My first ICD was in May of ’09) I’ve had 14 shocks since then and 4 ablations.

It’s no fun but I am working on excepting my "New Normal".  I have to be very careful bending over to pick up things and not stand up too fast. My walking pace has slowed down to a crawl. As I attend cardio rehab 3 times a week my stamina is building, but ever so slowly.

I was told progress is slow and I should learn to except that I will never feel the way I did before my ICD was implanted. I’m only 54 yrs old and my physical limitations are many.

So my prayers are of gratitude that I am still alive!
I also pray for a miracle healing!

God bless,
Lory

I am just now 40 but have had these blackouts all my life. I am thrilled with the pacer and would do it all over again.
