Bump at PM site

Anyone ever have a hard bump at their PM site? I awoke in the middle of the night with discomfort in my left chest. The first thing I always do when that happens is to check my pulse to see if I am in an arrhythmia. Well, this time something really did not feel right and I felt my PM site and there was something hard sticking out under my skin. It scared the heck out of me and freaked me out-----and my doctors always tell me to be sure to stay calm-----right!!! It felt like it may have been a wire or the top of the PM. I stood up and gently pushed on what ever it was and it went back in, but I was afraid to go back to sleep.
I had started lifting 2# hand weights and I know when I was in cardiac rehab 2 yesrs ago after I had received my PM, the weights were too difficult to do. My PM had dropped some at that time.
So, what do you think? I see my doctor next week.

Call your doctor and tell him what happened and ask if you can see him sooner. Your worry and anxiety will cause you more problems if you don't get it checked out. Good luck - Magster

its worth a call, but I will say I am now on my 3rd device and am very lumpy this time, The explanation I have gotten is it is partly scar tissue, it is also the header of the device and the leads. I have lost about 20 lbs in about 10 months, for some odd reason without trying and they contribute some of this due to "lack of cushion".

PM Bump

HI, I'm just another skinny old senior citizen with 18 years of PM experience. From your description it sounds familiar as the terminals from your leads where they attach to your PM are probably pushing outward from your PM shifting. All 4 of my PMs' have always been fastened but I had a similar thing with my 3rd PM and it finally eroded and had to be removed. I now have a fresh 4th PM implant on my right side with a new pair of leads. It is the most comfortable of all of them.
I might mention I'm also in cardiac rehab (stent patient) which aggravated my 3rd PM from too much upper body exercise. If any questions, send me a message. I use our site's (private message) a lot. Been kind of a drought lately, nobody believes us old ( ) well, won't use the word. Good Luck on seeing your Dr. Hope he owns up to not securing your PM properly. DonB

hey club memebers i'm the new club member. I'm not sure if it's because of my pm, but there's an episode where i'm picking up my grandchildren from school, and i would pull on the side of the road, question my grandchildren" about who's getting out, where are we going and who are we dropping off ",i would not remember pulling off on the side of the road until, they announce it to my family members, i still can't recollect it. I've been having these episodes lately. However, I did pass through one of those metal detectors, could that be the cause for this. I went to see my doctor and he scheduled me for a MRI, i went to get the MRI done the x-ray tech said I needed to get out of the room because of all the radiation. Does anyone know if the st.jude pm is compatible to go through the MRI?
