Tell us more

Angelica: Pls tell us more about your mother. What kind of pacemaker (PM)? Why does she have it? What is wrong with her heart? Where is she from? How old? When was it planted? What language does she speak? How long have YOU been speaking/writing English? Where do you live? What hospital did the PM planting?

English is a very difficult language, so I can see how you and your mother could have problems. Many hospitals have a translation service for women like your mother. If you do not see a sign at the check-in desk or the registration desk - ASK about it. The relatively small hospital we go to has such a service. A good medical translator will help tremendously.

If we tell you anything based on what you wrote, it would be a pure guess.

Your mother probably isn't crazy - just cannot communicate exactly what is going on in English.

There are a LOT of reasons why she could be having what you call "Electrical shocks in her PM." I had them once - others here have had them.

By "falling out" do you mean she goes unconscious & falls to the floor or whatever she is sitting on?

For what it is worth - "Crazy" is the LAST diagnosis after everything physical has been ruled out.

That Doctor Should Be Ashamed

by SMITTY - 2011-02-25 08:02:21

Hi Angelica,

That doctor should be ashamed of himself. Your grandmother is not crazy. Pacemakers can shock people. I know because mine shocked me and I was told what I was feeling was not caused by my pacemaker. I had to get another doctor to get mine fixed.

Where does she feel the shocks? Do the electrical shocks make your grandmother fall out? Can you tell us more about your grandmother and what country you are in if it is not the U.S.

Good luck to your grandmother,

Smitty
