Using an electric Vibrating Massager w/ PaceMake

Will a hand held electric vibrating massager cause interference or damage my pacemaker? I need the facts, not speculation on this question and haven't found them.

The facts are that there is no definitive answer. There are too many variables like the particular vibrator, your pacemaker settings, the location of the pacer and leads in your body, and how sensitive you are to strange feelings. This is one of the reasons why a doc will tell you not to use a vibrator.

It will not cause damage or interference. There are virtually no home electronics or appliances that will interfere with a pm, they are very well shielded.

If you use rate response, it may sense the vibration from the massager if it's to close to the pm, think you are exercising and raise your hr. It's annoying but harmless.
