Pacing

When I say pacing it feels like a flickering. I happens at least 2 times a day. Every day for the past few weeks. It is kind of scary but they said all well not to worry.

Me Too !!

I get the same thing! And the crew in the doctor's office acted like it 'flickering' was something they never heard of too!

Actually with my pacemaker, I only have the bottom lead implanted, since the doctor had a lot of trouble trying to put in the top lead. Anywayz, I'm told it is still fine that way, and maybe I'm just more sensitive now with the one lead.

I would explain it to someone like flicking their finger on her arm - a big thump. It used to happen a lot, but I ended up getting several adjustments to the pacemaker, lowering my number and shutting off some settings until I finally didn't feel it for a loooong time, until once today.

Yes, it's weird - yes, you feel like you can't get it through someone's head unless they experience it. And yes, I know EXACTLY what you are feeling.

Hi There! I have had my pacemaker almost two years, and I know exactly how you feel...flickering is a good word for it...thumping sometimes...like a lump in my throat sometimes...twinging and pinching...

It's funny to me that some cardiologists and EPs will insist you cannot feel your pacemaker kicking in...first off, I want to know how many of them have a pacemaker and have experienced what we are feeling? I'm sure it's quite a small number!

I'm not sure the number of leads or where they are placed have anything to do with it...I have a dual lead myself, and feel lovely things all the time! I have actually had thumping in my chest so hard that it has stopped me in my tracks on many occasions.

So...don't feel like you are odd or there is something wrong...believe me! As long as you feel better - more energy especially, I would learn to live with it! It's better to have a little inconvenience than not being able to function!

Good luck to you!

ticks

I told my doc I have ticks in my chest. LOL. They have told me they can make adjustments to get rid of them. Sometimes they're crazy ticks and nobody under the sun has a clue what you're talking about unless they have a device.

I just had my PM implanted 3 weeks ago and I've been getting those little ticks right under my sternum several times an hour. I don't recall this happening before my first follow up adjustment. The way I would describe the sensation is like a little pitter-patter. I feel a bit better knowing this may be quite common. I'm going to ask about this at my next appt in June. Thanks all for sharing.

You have rhythm.

I feel so blessed to have this little gem implanted in me. When I think of the alternative it is quite overwhelming sometimes.
