my surgery was a success out with the old and in with the new, my leads did not need to be changed. I am having a good bit of pain tonite but i think most of it is coming from the dressing and all the tape that is on there which i have to keep on till thursday. I hope this new pacemaker helps with the dizzy spells and the pvc;s

Pain from replacement

Be sure to use the pillow method of sleeping for the next few nights. Sleep on the side opposite the pacer and put a pillow or 2 in front of you to support your upper arm This keeps from squeezing the incision area. This really helped me both with the original and replacement surgery.

It's possible that the new pacer will help with the PVC's. While they deny that the pacer has anything to do with PVC's I've seen a slow but significant reduction in mine follow my replacement in Jan 2010. The last interrogation before the replacement showed a very high spike in PVC's event though it hadn't gone into replacement mode.
