Bit of advice please !

l have dusted down my exercise bike & had a session on it earlier (felt good) l am fairly sure there shouldn't be a problem with the handle bar pulse checking "thingy" but could one of you clever people confirm please.
Another question l have is, my PM is set at lowest rate 60bpm but several times l have checked it & it has been low to mid 50's is that ok? My PM is still moving about not from place to place now but one day it is flat as it was originally & then it will go on its side & be sticking out causing me lots of stinging & tingling just feel permanantly sore & bruised in that area BUT even so l do feel a lot better in myself generally so l am concentrating on that fact & am sure my PM will settle down eventually ??????
Thanks, Sue X

The pulse thingy won't hurt anything, but don't be surprised if it doesn't work. Sometimes the pm will interfere with them and either make it give no signal or an inaccurate signal.

pulse in the 50's... as long as you're feeling ok, don't worry about it. Could be how you're counting, could be little beats you're not missing. It's not actually set for 60 beats per minute, but more likely one per second so it won't always work out to exactly 60 bpm. Now, if it was in the 40's or you felt bad, I'd say go get checked. Just barely under 60 and feel ok, don't stress over it.

My concern...

I agree with Tracey, no concerns over your bike, it's pulse checking "thingy" or with a rate slightly slower than your programmed rate (very common for a variety of reasons, the rate you measure externally doesn't always match the rate the PM sees in your heart).

My concern is your device flipping up like that. Excessive flipping or rotations can actually cause the lead to coil up in the pocket and eventually back out of the heart (commonly referred to as Twiddler's Syndrome, thanks to device patients who manually flip it by hand repeatedly). I would strongly urge you to do everything you can to keep that from happening (avoid motions/positions that cause it to flip, etc.) and be sure your doctor knows that this is happening.

Good luck!
