First, thanks to Electric Frank and JoelyM for their answersto my previous question. I have another from a couple of years ago actually. I was doing a telephone check and when I got to the part where you hold a magnet over the pacemaker, I heard a series of strange noises from the transmitter for a while, then it settled down to the normal. rapid pulse.
The technician said, do that over and hold the magnet still, you are moving it all over the place.
I did do it over, and the result was normal.
But I was not moving the magnet the first time, I have done this dozens of times, and can't imagine why it generated the odd noises the first time.
Anyone have a similar experience?
Norman

It may be the first time we've felt a normal heart rhythm in a long time, so of course it seems too fast and too strong.

It is very possible that there was static or what not from the actual phone line, I know when I was working in the pacer clinic that did tele monitoring sometimes if there were high winds in the area it could cause artifact on the transmission.
