Time Zones

I live on the East coast of Australia and the time here is 8:00 am Thursday 9th DST (Daylight saving time). I noticed that the time of a recent post was about 16:30 Wed 8th. What is this time as it does not seem to be GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) (21:00 Wed 8th). ? Is it Montreal time. I find that because I live in Australia that by the time I see a post quite often a post already has a number of replies and my answer would be useless and I have given up looking at chat. Have to go now as I do not have to go to work and do not have any more time ha ha, but now would probably be a perfect time.

Time Zones

Hello Robin,

I'll let someone else explain the times as all I know about is Texas time zones. But, please never deprive us of your input because a subject may already have some comments when you see it. If you look back I think you will find that some comments are made several days after the question first appears and gets some comments. Frankly, I prefer not to be first as that gives me the opportunity to see what the others are saying and many times that keeps me from showing my ignorance on a subject.

So please let us have the Aussie slant on the questions whenever you can.

Best regards,

Smitty

If i figured out all the times in your post You posted at what would be 6:28 pm Pacific Coast Standard time on the 10th. I believe this is because the website is set to or maintained on the West coast of the US. You posted at 8am on the 9th.
My dad died in Australia and trying to work with the embassies and the days and times was a nightmare. He died on what was a Friday night here which would have been a Thursday morning where you are. We had to wait until Tuesday morning our time to find out if he had actually died or not.

So in order for you to have the best opportunity to chat anytime between 8-10 am your time has the greatest possibility of finding people in chat. I have been told that the very best thing to do is to post you are on the general message board that you are in chat and then just hang out for a bit if no one's there. I have opened chat in another window so that i can be there and someplace else at the same time.
It's so weird to be in both places at the same time ;)

You know you're wired when...

You fondly named your implanted buddy.
