Sore butt!

Hi all
I've just had a pacemaker installed as a Sacral Nerve Stimulator. So basically mine is implanted in my butt! So now the swelling has gone down I find it quite uncomfortable.

Is this normal? I'd be interested to hear about other experiences.

Thanks

I've never heard of having a pacer located in that area, but these days anything is possible...I totally believe you too.

The only thing I can suggest is: getting your hands on one of those donut-ring pillows that patients get after having hemroid surgery.

And Patch....your response was awesome:) - as usual.

Mark...good luck and keep us posted. Just curious, how long will you have this pacemaker, is it permanent or just temporary???

Good luck,
Pookie

Its a neural (spelling) stimulator for the spine, ie for back pain, leg pain from back ect..., it gives a theorpy to the spinal nerves instead of having to take medication for pain. My mom is going to have this done in a couple of weeks. Im sure markt that it would be normal for awhile after implantation, but make sure you contact your doctor and let them know you are having excessive pain, make sure you dont have an infection. My mom did the temporary one and it helped her more than she would admit but with a little proding she did say it helped the pain alot. It is such a great thing that works in place of narcotics.

A properly implanted and adjusted pacemaker will not even be noticeable after you get over the surgery.
