Query about interrigation copy

Hi,
I haven't posted in a while as most of the time everything is going well. I had an interrogation done last week. It showed that I will need a new PM in about 5 mths. I always ask for a copy of the report. This time it had the usual V.capture management (which is what is recorded at the last self test before the interrogation) graph. On it, where it shows a [+]Adapted it is not on the graph, but somewhere above the graph. Other times it has always been in the middle of the curve. Also, the ventricular lead output energy is 31.52uJ (the Atrial lead is 3.16uJ) and the pulse width is >0.46ms (it has always 0.40ms before). About a year ago, I was told that the ventricular lead was showing signs of wearing out, but now I am assured that it has stabilized, but something does not appear right here. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what these figures mean.
Thanks in advance
Robin

Robin: I cannot help you directly. One of the big guns will probably chime in shortly.

BUT... go to the left gray column under INFORMATION. Click on WEB LINKS; Click on MEDTRONICS. Root around for manuals for your model. You can find about 350 pages of manual for your device w/ more info than you want - but it should help answer some of your questions.

BTW: That's the same model I started out with - battery croaked after nearly 8 yrs & now I have a VERSA.

Pulse width change

by ElectricFrank - 2011-03-15 03:03:03

The change from .0.40ms to 0.48ms pulse width is not enough to be concerned. Did the Ventricular Voltage Amplitude change? Another one is the ventricular Lead Impedance. The voltage, pulse width, and lead impedance are used to calculate the Ventricular Lead Output Energy.

The voltage and pulse width are determined during the daily self test if that feature is activated, and also during the office interrogation. It's what you feel during the test as each one is lowered until pacing is lost and then increased til it is regained. so small changes are common.

If you have any more questions drop me a note.
