exercising with a defribrilator

Hello All,

I'm not new to having a defribrilator, I've had four implanted over the last 15 years, however my doctors decided to move my device implanted on 6/8/11, to my upper left pectoral area. It had been previously placed in my lower left addominal area, so this is a new experience.

Prior to my recent change I had gotten used to my life with the device and exercised daily without any hesitation or fear. I now feel I'm starting all over; both mentally and physically. Previously, I would do push ups, do yoga, and light weight lifting. I'm concerned the new location will prevent or dramitically limit this activity, especially the yoga area.

I'm wondering about experiences others are having and what your physical capalities are?

Thank you

Give yourself a few weeks for the surgery to heal. In the meantime start working back up to your normal amount of activity. You know how to do..you have done it before.

The upper left pectoral placement if very common. I've had mine there since 2004. I hike, Jeep, and about anything else I want to do, and the only time I notice it is when I log on here to interact about pacers.

I am a women, had my 2nd pacemaker implant 4/2/11 in a different area then the 1st. My 1st one was implanted closer to my armpit, the 2nd more in the pectorial area. I started last week with bands, but the area was sore. Today I did regular weights not even my usual reps or weight and it was sore. So, I am going very, very slow.
