Can I play football (soccer) ?

Hello there,

I am desperately seeking advice on some kind of protection for when I play football.

I've checked online and it seems to have come down to two products.

1) Evoshield Shooting Shirt priced at 89.99 euros.
or
2) The USA Paceguard priced at $125

Which one would be best? I've also checked out Rugby Protection but that seems to be just foamy style padding.

Can I play again? I usually play two 90min matches per week and I play as a winger/striker. I don't really put my foot in but will I have to be cautious?

Anybody with any guidance for me I will be extremely grateful.

Thanks Pacemakers.

Ashley

When l had my PM fitted l was told my footy days were over but then l am a woman in her 50's !!!
Not sure about you though, l know they say to avoid contact sports but is football contact sport? l am sure you will get some sound advice off the wise people on this site.
Maybe give you a wave from the kop in April???
( let me know if you go )
Good luck, Sue x

Thanks Sue

It's not really a full-on contact sport I suppose.

I'll have to play like a David Ginola and not like Roy Keane haha.

I went to Fulham away on Saturday and we (Villa) looked really defensive.

I plan to go to Everton in Sept but yeh, give us a wave from the Kop :o)

Thanks again.

What great advice. I am going to follow your instructions and create my own tailor made PM protection.

I have got a tight Under Armour top already so the plan is to order the gel (you can do that online) and make my own padding and pocket. It sounds perfect.

Thanks for taking time out and helping me, I am truly grateful.

I showed my family members and people down the pub your message and they said what superb help that is.

Thanks again and I'll post a message and a picture perhaps when I've finally constructed it.

PS I trained for the first time last night and felt fine. My touch was good and it was so good being back on the field.

Thank you

Ashley

Did this work?

Since I got my pacemaker, I don't pass out anymore! That's a blessing in itself.
