Dizzy Etc.

Hi All,
I'm having trouble posting my response to your messages. I may do this in more than one message.
History(thank you BillMFI): A-Fib in late 2004. 2 failed cardioversion attempts - lost heart rhythm. First PM in march 2005.
Continuing Masters Swimming became more of a challenge - motion sensor only works when I am vertical. Lots of hyperventilating helped to keep me from being lapped by the other swimmers in my lane.
more later......

Your history sounds fairly complex. I personally consider blackouts as a serious concern, especially considering your lost heart rhythm. A close friend of mine, age 55, had a standard pm implanted after a single blackout. After two years his symptoms reappeared and he was advised to have his pm replaced with an ICD. He hesitated because he was reluctant to undergo the surgery. Would you believe he dropped dead two days after we had lunch a year ago! When I went to his viewing, he looked so healthy I expected him to sit up and say "haha, it was all a joke". Not to scare you, but I would be asking for a Holter Moniter or at least a treadmill stress test if you have'nt had one recently. Better to be safe than sorry. I assume that your pm has been checked and is in good order. Good luck!

I'm 35 and got my pacemaker a little over a year ago. It definitely is not a burden to me. In fact, I have more energy (which my husband enjoys), can do more things with my kids and have weight because of having the energy.
