are these normal feelings?

Hello, my name is Michelle and i am 29 years old. My dual PM was put in on August 8. for the past few days i have been very lightheaded, its been hard to breathe and i am very tired. is this normal? i can't remeber anything the doctor said in the hospital, probably because this was totally unexpected and my thoughts were all over the place. 2 years ago i had a heart ablation for a fast heartbeat, then approximately 2 weeks ago i had a PM put in because my heartbeat was too slow. I do have a call into my doc but just found this site to pass the time before getting that call back.

thanks for any help.

John - thank you so much. Before the M was put in, my hr was in the low 30s high 20s and had 4 to 8 second pauses. they set my PM rates at 50 and 120, pretty close to yours. I think they were talking about raising it to 60 too. i hate the lightheadedness and shortness of breath. so uncomfortable. I am glad to hear you are feeling good. I love this site it is so helpful, especially when you get comments back like yours. helps a lot.

Hi Michelle, sorry to hear about your lightheasdedness , I had my PM put in on Jul 22, and am generally feeeling good no more shortness of breath and huffing and puffing but I do have the light foggy head ,

i've had a Slow hr in the 30's for 5 yeas prior due to a ablation gone wrong and the Dr gettign to clse to the sinus node and damaging it.

Do you know how your PM was set up as far as your rates mine are 50-130 with the rate respnse on.

I think when I go back on Sept 8th they are gona raise the low end to 60 .

this could be a matter of you needing an adjustment of your setting..

if you need any mmore help pleae ask we are all together on this here..

Normal?

I can say that if my upper limit was set that low (120) I would not feel normal :) Our need for a pacer may be completely different and our RR could be as well, mine is off. I've had my PM since 2/10 after an AV node ablation. My upper setting is 135 which is still not as high as I would like it to be to support my activity level. Again, you may be in a totally different situation but thought my post may be helpful. I would discuss your symptoms with you doctor. I failed to ask if you RR was on or off?

It is certainly no fun to have the symptoms you are experiencing and wish you the best.

it now feels normal.

thank you sorry for not responding sooner. I went in and talked with my Doctor right way and actually had to stay over in the hospital agin. My RR was OFF but they turned it on and raised by rate to 65! i am feeling much better. my high setting is 150 now as well. for the activity i was doing, the pacer was just too low. it was not going up at all, so the recovery time of a little walk was taking days.

Thanks again for your thoughts heidiglassmeyer!
