Mum's Problems

Hi Mazz,

I have learned to never say what a pacemaker can or cannot do, but the problems your mum is having with her PM would be new to me.

Some of us have gotten jolts that we blamed on our PM but these were always in the chest are, not the whole body. As for it making the TV change channels I don't see how that is possible any more so than a computer could. The PM does not send out any signals. The electrical impulses it sends to the heart are sent over a small wire and are most unlikely to leave the body.

You don't say where your mum lives, but is it possible that she lives in an area where static electricity is created by walking across the floor. I know this can give a jolt that feels like it affects the entire body. Also I can see where strong static electricity could make one of the new digital TVs act up, but I have never seen such happen.

If her symptoms continue she should contact her Dr and have the PM checked out.

Good luck to your mum,

Smitty
