Shock to Pacemaker

Last week I was at a sleep lab testing various CPAP solutions for my apnea and was hooked up to monitoring equipment.

About 10 minutes into the test I felt what I could only describe as a shock to my left upper arm and chest which started shaking. This lasted a few seconds and then again a few minutes later. I called the technician who removed the monitoring belt from my chest and the rest of the test proceded without problems.

I’ve had my PM since July and never experienced any kind of interference before, if indeed that’s what it was. Anyone know what this is?

I too had the sleep study done with the band across my chest and had to sleep with it on all night but it did nothing to interfere with my pacemaker. There are no magnets in it, so I don't know the answer, but perhaps the next time you have your device interrogated you should bring it up to the PM Tech and whoever else you see during your checkups.
