Is there A "BreakIn" time

I had a Revo MRI SureScan pacemaker installed (I have MRI's taken about every 3 years for mini-strokes and a tri-gem nerve) on 2/10 for slow heart rate; surgery area is not bothering me & I do some slight shoulder, left arm and finger exercises to keep the muscles flexible. My question is: whenever I move fast (normal for me, or use to be) like a turn or get up from a chair, I feel lightheaded, a fast pulsing in the heart area, breathing is a little heavier . Might this be my pacemaker kicking in? Sorry still learning terms. I hesitate to move sometimes.

I'm going to assume you haven't had your first pacemaker interrogation yet where they usually will adjust your settings.

When we 1st receive our pacemakers they usually come with default settings which are usually not right for everyone. In most cases, it takes several trips to the PM Clinic before all the possible setting adjustments are completed before we feel back to "normal".

Just a suggestion: if & when you have any adjustments to your pacemaker ask if they can only do one at a time, because if they do more than one and you still have problems then it's hard to figure out which setting is the one to be re-adjusted.

And no need to apologize.....we were all in the same boat when we first had our pacers too:)

Perhaps since you are having these symptoms, would it be possible for you to call and be seen sooner rather than later? The worst they can say is no, but it's worth the try. In the meantime, take it easy as your body is adjusting to it's new friend.

Take care and keep us posted.

Pookie, No I haven't had my first meeting with the cardio. I am glad you said that they are set with default settings and guess I should have realized that. Makes me feel a bit better. I like your idea of getting one adjustment at a time. I'll ask him.
