malfunctioning

I've a pacemaker, and they installed 06/28/2004.
the model is: 1296-111808
electrots: verticul atrial
model: guidant guidant
4457 4408
serial#: 417906 413683
endo/eti: endo endo

After 8 years , i have a problem with my pacemaker. when they check the machine, it shows pacemaker has 0.5 years left. but I don't feel well. My pulse is really high, I have shortness of breath, extreme fatigue and blood pressure is changing rapidly. My doctor suggested to rest.

I just wanted to let you know I'm under doctor supervision. But they don't want to change my pacemaker because the signal is not red yet.

I just wanted to have your opinion.
thanks to everyone
Nilgun

leads

There's been some news about lead failure lately. It's mostly about defib leads rather than pacemaker leads, but maybe it'll lead you somewhere helpful:

Best of luck.

So many symptoms

by bjbumblebee - 2012-04-17 12:04:34

It's so hard to know what is going on. Maybe there are issues with one of your leads. You just never know. I had a lead replacement appox 4 years ago and never felt right. I had so many palpatations, shortness of breath, but nothing ever showed up. The past January my HR dropped down into the 30's and yet my leads did not indicated they were bad. I was diagnosed with atrial fib and put on meds. In April I had 3 leads extracted, a new pacemaker and now I feel like my old self and hopefully will be getting off of the beta blockers for the atrial fib. I had been dizzy also. It was the leads apparently all a long and yet they never registered as being bad. I hope you are able to find out what is going on. I lost years of my life suffering. It feels so good to be back again. Take care and will be thinking of you.

Pacemaker treat brady

The first comment pulse is very high, pacemakers treat slow heart rates, if ou have a high rate unlikely to be from the pacemaker,

Similar symptoms

by pacingwithme - 2012-05-07 08:05:22

Hi everyone,

I have symptoms very similar to Nilgun. Got my PM in July 2006, a Guidant as well. Had total heart block and am pacemaker dependent so was told it would probably last 5 to 7 years before I need the batteries replaced. However, I am still on telephone checks every other month. When the breathlessness and the blood pressure spikes began, since my PM checks were okay, I feared my four moderate leaky valves had got worse and went early for my echocardiogram. No change there. My doctor put me back on an Ace Inhibitor (not taken for over four years), but BP is still spiking and all over the place; and a few times my pulse rate dropped below the 60 bpm setting yesterday which has worried me more. Oxygen levels okay after a 6-minute walk test which had triggered breathing difficulty and sweating around my neck and head. I am now scheduled for a stress test with Myoview and drugs... cannot do the treadmill due to bad knees. Has anyone experienced any of my additional symptoms to that of Nilgun, and, if so, got answers and help?

Thanks much.
