wind turbines

My concern is wind turbines. We live in the Ipperwash beach area on lake Huron on. We presently have 6 turbines within 1 mile of our farm. We have been notified that over 150 more will be built in the area over the next year. Some could be within a 1/4 mile from us.
I am concerned that this large concentration of these units will cause a failure in my device. Is anyone aware of device failure do to this type of large concentration of turbines. My Doctors are not sure as their has been no recorded history of this happening to their knowledge. But dead men cant talk. Thanks Gerry .

Even if you walked

Under them, the field will not harm you The distance is to far away. Now, if you get within say 30' of the generator, them the field will shut down your PM, but your heart will still beat. You will get a weak feeling as if you were standing in front of a leaking microwave oven. I was in the industry at one time and I couldn't go back to work due to were the controlroom was. It was within 30'. So, I hope this ease you fear. I'm sure the towers are taller then 30'.

Your device will not fail, it goes into the same mode like when they put magnet on pacer during interrogation. And being a quarter mile away, they shouldn't affect you at all.

But to ease your anxiety and since your doctor is not sure, why don't you contact the manufacturer of your pacer and discuss with them. They will help clear this up for you and you might want to pass the information to your doctor that will help increase his knowledge on pacers.

Fishfighters description triggered an image of wind turbine maintenance techs climbing the towers and at 30' below the gen head the ones with pacers falling off like flies.
LOL

There are exactly TWO ways...

...the turbines could affect your PM!

1) If you fly like a bird or are a vampire that flits around on dark nights in your BAT form. Fly into the blades while they are turning & SPLAT!!! you are flight kill.

2) Climb up into the turbine housing & hug the alternator - or the DC generator providing the field current for the alternator.

Otherwise you are perfectly safe from those big ol' nasty, ugly bird killing despoilers of the view of the countryside.

I feel so blessed to have this little gem implanted in me. When I think of the alternative it is quite overwhelming sometimes.
