resting pulse

Recently on occasion my resting pulse will be between 75 and 100. My PM is set for a minimum of 60. Has anyone else experienced this? My atrium is 95% paced so I wonder how this could be possible. I have a clinic appointment soon. Is there anything is the PM settings I should ask about? My blood pressure readings are normal.

It's perfectly normal to go above your minimum settings! The setting is there for safety, you will never go under that number, but it's very normal to go above it. Most likely your pm is filling in extra beats and smoothing out your heartrate rather than speeding it up. So, before you may have been beating time per second for a hr of 60 but your heart was missing beats so you counted less than that. I hope that's clear!

Hi rcramer,
TraceyE is right. What your experiencing sounds really normal. My resting rate is generally in the 70-80s range. Don't sweat it. We all go through the periods of trying to understand if this or that is normal.

Heart Rates

Hi,

Twelve days ago, before my procedue, my pulse was 47 BPM and read in the mid 40s for over a year prior.

Below is my reading since having the Biotronik two wire pacemaker implanted twelve days ago.  First day was 66 BPM and today's rate was 69 BPM.  These are taken at rest when I first wake up each day. 66;60;73;71;71;60;60;68;73;70;69

My pacemaker is set at 60 BPM.  ¿ Do the readings above 60 BPM mean that my pulse is non assisted by the pacemaker and that the 60 readings indicate that the pacemaker is assisting from what most likely have been a reading in the mid 40s???

All this stuff is very new to me.....................

Thank you in advance,  Mike

But I think it will make me feel a lot better. My stamina to walk is already better, even right after surgery. They had me walk all around the floor before they would release me. I did so without being exhausted and winded the way I had been.
