Questions about Merlin

I do not have a Merlin. MY Cardio only does office visit interrogations, so I get detailed results - positive & negative - every time I get downloaded.

I've read the two threads about the device in the last few days & am curious about exactly how much feedback you get. I get the impression that it's of the nature "...if there are any problems, you'll get called. If there are none you will not hear from the cardio."

I've found that to be an unreliable situation in the case of many physicians. Reports get lost; people forget to call; the report gets stranded on the desk of a reviewer for an excessive amount of time. They call; you aren't home & they cannot leave a message because of Hippa, etc, etc, etc.

I've had about a 75% failure rate for INR lab results getting to my neurologist. I give them a few days after donating blood then call. They did not even know I had the work done.

Should I have a warmer & fuzzier feeling for the system as I've heard it described?

Don

Patch- are you serious about the Merlin being less than perfect with Medtronic pm's? After following your harrowing narrative, I don't know whether you're serious, or not about the Merlin.
Even though it's close to 90 miles one way I have no problem with changing to "in office" interrogations.

Don- you are right in suggesting a follow-up call might be prudent, if they don't call.
