Hibachi Grill

Forgive me if this has been discussed previously but I checked the search feature and found nothing. Tonight I went to a Japanese steak house with my family and when they turned on the hibachi grill I immediately began feeling horrible. I thought I was going to pass out and had a weird tingling sensation. As soon as we left I felt fine. Has anyone else had this issue?

I went to a few Japanese Steak House for birthday celebrations and never even thought about it affecting my pacemaker. The fire they give off makes my face feel hot though. I never seem to be able to catch the food they throw at you.

Go Again To See

Like others have told you the hibachi grill is gas fired and not likely to cause your PM a problem. But the next time you are in a Benihanas take a look around. The ones I have been in have lots of equipment, including musical equipment sitting around and it is possible some of this could be causing your problem.

To rule out Benihanas, maybe you should go back there and see if the same thing happens again. If it does all you have to do is leave. If it does happen it is not going to harm your heart or your PM.

It's just a gas grill. I've eaten at them countless times and haven't had a problem. I'd get the pm interrogated to see if anything shows up.

I recently went to Benihana. The grill had absolutely no effect however I was very uncomfortable due to the amt of heat they throw off

Could It Have Been Something Else

Hi Scrappy12,

Could it have been something else around you that caused you to feel that way? Were you sitting by anything that is known to cause this type of problem?

I've had very few interference problems, but the few that I've had made me feel the same way. Like Smitty said, I'd go back there and see if it does it again, and if it does, look around to see what else it could be.

Have you been there before and not experienced this problem? Could you be sensitive to the gas so close to your face? Or, even the heat it gives off? Did you still feel bad when they shut it off? If so, it makes me think it was something else you were sitting by.

Were you sitting by some sort of magnet or security device? I was in line at a concert once, and started feeling bad. I moved away from where I was standing and felt better. One of my doctors thinks it was a security device in the window I was standing by. I'm in no way an expert in this, so watch what others have to say too.

Good luck!
