hi i last posted at begining of july and have been trying to cope by hoping things will settle but they are getting worse and i know i should seek help but i am sared of more surgery
i had my first pacemaker for five years put in for second degree heartblock and had it replaced in august 2008 the second one was put in same place right side of chest but deeper i do not know if it was sutured in place after purposly losing four stone the pm is now apparent just under the skin and grating on my rib cage every time i move my left arm and feels like when i have the pm interrigation. i am not under a cardiologist just due for a yearly check at pm clinic with technition in october i also feel a fullness in the sides of my neck.after the second pm which i was totally puy out for i suffered a frozen shoulder for three months so dread more surgery also the pain from the pm position is now a constant dull aceh i was only pacing at one or less percent at last appointment so what do anyone of you think i suffer anxiety and the doctors always fob me off that nothings wrong so i dont go but this is real as im sure some of you will understand how do i get the pm removed cas im sure i would be better of no pain or grinding full use of my arm and no weird pm interrogation feelings constantly dont worry if no one has any answers thanks for any advice in case anyone has a magic wand im in the uk so governed by local hospitals

Hi Belly321,

You are not alone. We all have our scarey thoughts tucked away only for these thoughts to jump out when they are not needed. I went through depression, stress and anxiety and it was not fun. I think I can safely say that most of us go through some kind of anxiety or stress with our pacer or defibs.

Belly, if you are not feeling well please go see your regular family doctor, perhaps he/she could help.

Perhaps you also need support whether it be in the form of counselling or gathering support from family and friends.

I don't know if I read your posting correctly, but it sounds like you want to have your pacemaker out? I've thought that too many times, but without it....I wouldn't be here.

If you are in pain, please go to your family doctor or if that isn't possible, then I'd be going to the Emergency Room.

Don't give up!!!!!!!!! There is always hope.

Pookie
