smart meters

Today the electric people knocked on my door and told me that they were putting a smart meter on my house. I told them I did not want one because of my pacemaker and the fact that it is right next to my back door and would be on the other side of my bathroom wall. The guy said too bad I am getting one and I told him I was not authorizing him to do so. He told me I would be arrested if I didnt get one.

I called the public utilities commission, and they told me that a law was passed here in Texas requiring all residences to have one. I also talked to the company responsible for my electricity and they sympathized with me, but said since it is the law they have no choice anymore. He said there will be an amendment passed soon that allows for them to be disabled in medical situations. Once that happens they can come turn it off.....

I am really worried because I have had a reaction to a smart meter before. I was wondering if anyone else has experience with one and if they bother you. The PUC lady tried to tell me that it is no different than a cell phone, but some of those cause problems also. I know all i have to do is back away and it will go back to normal, but it cant be good for my heart and how will I take a shower?

Any advice or information you can give me would be really appreciated. I am in panic mode at the moment..

There is an interesting study about this, and they used Medtronic devices:

Might be helpful.

I have one

We've had one for over a year now. I don't feel anything and you are the first person I've heard mention an issue. Is it possible it was something other than the meter before?

little relief

That makes me feel a little better - except for the fact that I was bothered by one already.....

interference

We usually have to be less than 6" to a foot away for anything to interfere. It's not dangerous or hard on the heart, it just puts the pm in test mode just like when we have it interrogated. That's why you felt ok when you backed away from it, the switch opened again. I would think your wall is thicker than that so even if it has an effect, which is very unlikely, you'd have to be outside right in front of it. It shouldn't affect you in the shower regardless.

Shouldn't be a problem

We have had them in three housed and never felt a twing. Your device well very well shielded.

The electrician installed soundl like a jerk but we all run into that once in a while.

Hope things work out for you.

Smart Meters NOT Safe

by stopsmartmeters - 2013-11-18 04:11:41

Please be aware that so-called 'smart' utility meters are dangerous both to human health and to electronic equipment including pacemakers. Watch this video of a man who was fitted with a pacemaker because the smart meter pulsed radiation was messing with his heart. Then the sm interfered with his pacemaker, nearly killing him.

RF radiation at the levels produced by 'smart' meters is not safe. You have a right to keep this hazardous technology off your home! There is no law requiring you to accept one of these meters! If a utility tells you differently they are lying! For more information go to http://www.stopsmartmeters.org or e-mail me at josh@stopsmartmeters.org Good health to you all!

wish i could refuse it...

There is a law in Texas requiring you to have them... unfortunately

Smart Meters

Simple answer... Wrap the smart meter with aluminium foil. Or make a box that will cover the smart meter on all four sides and line the box with aluminium foil. This creates a Faraday Cage and all radio waves are contained within the box. There's no law (yet) saying you cannot do this. http://www.askaprepper.com/10-faraday-cages-you-can-make-at-home/

You know you're wired when...

Your electric tooth brush interferes with your device.
