Check-up --- Thumbs up!!!

I spent most of the day at the hospital for my annual check-up (series of tests). I'm followed quite closely because of my congenial heart problems and atrial flutter.

The docs say my ablation last summer was a success. From my pacemaker check-up, they found I had short (a few beats) episodes of atrial flutter, but nothing to worry about. My stress test was also a success. They told me I did better that the vast majority of "normal" people. The remaining battery life of my pacemaker is about 6-8 years and I'm being paced 100% of the time. Needless to say, I’m very happy with the results.

My docs encouraged me to stay active and continue eating well. I plan to increase my aerobic exercise like walking & biking and I also continue to remain caffeine-free. Both seem to help me feel better.

Best of heath,

Blake

Blake, I am very new to the site, but like everyone is saying, THANKS for your vision and creation of this site.
I will have my (first) PM inserted tomorrow morning at St. Joseph's in Atlanta.
The info already shared by fellow members has been very helpful and comforting to me. It is always nice to obtain help and advise from those that have "walked the walk."
Anyway, thanks again and good luck to you. God bless!
Doug

Hi Blake
Thats great news.I was wondering how things were going for you after your rough spell last year.
I agree with the exersise .We should all keep as active as we can.Although I have a pacemaker and am paced 100% like yourself I can keep up with the young ones. Some of them just walk to slow for me !!!.
If you ever come to OZ for a visit I will go for a bike ride with you.
Take care and thanks so much for the friendships, comfort and help we get from the Pacemaker club
YOU ARE THE BEST!!! Kay
