Truck Driving and Pacemaker

Can you be a truck driver if you have a pacemaker? I know that people with type 2 diabetis can't. Anyone knows if people with pacemaker are not allowed to drive Trucks???

Im not sure as of everywhere......but im from Ohio and I know of two or three that wont let you drive with a pacer. Im not sure if thats just the "owners" rules or what. U might just wanna call around. Or i would say dont even tell them. But then again you gotta think about your health and all the "what if's" Good luck!! Rachel

CDL's

My husband has his CDL (for 20 yrs now) and he has Type II Diabetes and a very good friend of ours has Type I Diabetes and he has his CDL as well. We live in Pennsylvania and our friend had to be approved by his physician and pass all of PennDots tests first. They both drive anywhere East of the Mississippi.

As for the pacemaker, I agree with Cabg Patch, and checking the rules for the state that you live in.

Hm? I'm going to have to ask hubby when he gets home tonight if he knows if PA would allow that.

Actually, in Florida if you are insulin dependant you can't drive a truck. They are extremely strict about that.
